Thursday Predictions

Sorry I haven't updated since last Saturday, but I forgot to do it. I am going to be gone for the weekend, so I am going to go ahead and post my predictions for the weekend. It is just Thursday, and Saturday seems so far away, although it is less than two days. Here goes the Saturday Predictions:

Auburn @ Mississippi St.
Finally, an SEC game. Saturday is Step 1 towards an SEC Championship. You have to win these games to get there. We haven't seen much from the Auburn offense so far, but we could see it open up a little bit more. I don't think we will see it fully up and running until next week, but more than last week. There was lots of improvement from week 1 to week 2, and if Auburn can make the same improvement this week, they will be great. This will be, by far, the most physical team they have played this year. Anthony Dixon will, in my opinion, be stopped by this awesome Auburn Defense. Hopefully, Chris Todd will play even better than last week. I think the turnover problem that caused us to lose last year to Mississippi St, will be fixed. Personally, I don't think this game is going to be close. My pick: Auburn-31 Mississippi St.-10

Alabama vs. Western Kentucky
Should I even predict this game? This SHOULD be a blowout win for Alabama, but will they play down to their competition like they did last week? This game should be out of reach in the first quater, but I'm not sure that it will. I'm not brave enough to pick Western Kentucky, and I don't think this game will be close. My pick: Alabama-28 Western Kentucky-9

Georgia @ South Carolina
I think this game could be closer than the experts think. South Carolina played bad in the loss against Vanderbilt, but they will come out better than that this week. I think Georgia will play like, well, Georgia. My pick: Georgia-27 South Carolina-13

USC vs Ohio St
This is the big one outside of the SEC. Everyone has been talking about this game since the schedules were released. Quite frankly, I'm ready for them to shut up and talk about the SEC, but that isn't my decision. I don't think this game will be close at all. Ohio St. is highly overrated, and USC is loaded with talent. Beanie Wells is questionable. What more could go wrong for Ohio St.? Yes, they will look better than they did last week vs Ohio, but it will not translate in a "W". I think USC will win with passing and letting Joe McKnight be himself. My pick: USC-32 Ohio St.-13

All in all, I see a great weekend ahead. It will be fun, no matter what. That's all I have for today.......................WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Predictions

Outside of the SEC, this week doesn't have many big games. That doesn't make this week any less exciting. Let's take a look at the games of the week:

Auburn vs Southern Miss
Last week was very disappointing on the offensive side. The defense, on the other hand, was no disappointmen at all. Auburn had a Touchdown on Offense, Defense, and Special Teams last week. This is a game with two spread offenses going at it, so it should be fun to watch. Chris Todd is getting the start, and Burns is questionable. I think Auburn will pull this one out pretty easily. Paul Rhoads' defenses have a history of being very good against the spread, and I don't think that will change today. Southern Miss will not be able to move the ball very much. As far as the Auburn offense goes, I think they will look some better than last week. They will continue to get better every week. I pick: Auburn-31 Southern Miss-6

Alabama vs Tulane
Alabama looked like a new team last week, how will they follow it up? Tulane will be an easy game, but don't forget about Louisiana Monroe last year! I'm definitely not going with the upset, but we will see if the 32 million dollar man can get his team ready for this game. I think they will be ready this week, and momentum will carry over. I pick: Alabama-28 Tulane-7

Ole Miss vs Wake Forrest
I think this game will be very close. It is only a matter of time before Houston Nutt gets this team competing in the league. Jevon Snead will have to step up big time today against a pretty good Wake Forrest team. I think Ole Miss will pull the upset this week, and the SEC once again shows the ACC who is boss. I pick: Ole Miss-24 Wake Forrest-20

Florida vs Miami
Miami is on the rise. In order for them to win this one, they will have to keep Tebow contained. I don't think Miami is quiet there yet. Florida has too much talent for Miami. I pick: Florida-31 Miami-24

Georgia Tech vs Boston College
The option is back, or at least at Georgia Tech. I think this will be fun to watch. Boston College probably won't know how to stop the Triple-option attack. I think Georgia tech is going to run all over the place. I pick: Georgia Tech-34 Boston College-24

I hope everyone has just as good a week of college football as I am going to have. There aren't many Big games, but there are plenty of good match ups. That's all I have for today......................................WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!

Chris Todd to Start on Saturday

After a, pretty much, terrible showing by Auburn Quaterbacks in Saturday's game vs. Louisiana Monroe, Tuberville and Franklin have named Chris Todd the starter for game 2 vs. Southern Miss. Kodi Burns was hurt in game 1, and is questionable. He may or may not play this week. IF Burns plays, the coaches will look to rotate the quaterbacks a little different this week. They hope to allow one of them to get into some sort of rhythm. They think that was a main problem in last weeks passing game. Neither qb got into a rhythm and Auburn only had a total of 85 yards. Hopefully the passing game will be able to compliment the running game that had 321 yards last week. The only thing that is for sure is the defense will be there and ready to play when the game starts. All we can do is wait and see if the offense will be as ready. That's all I've got for now.........................WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!
I posted 3 posts today, so check out the other 2 below this one also!

What a Weekend!

The first weekend, is behind us. What happened? The SEC picked up just where it left off last season, dominating the competition. Only 2 teams have come away with a loss. Those teams are Mississippi St., who lost to Louisiana Tech 22-14, and Tennessee, who lost in Overtime to UCLA 27-24. Everyone else took care of business. Lets take a quick look at a couple of the games:

Auburn vs Louisiana Monroe

The game started out very dissappointing. The offense came out and did absolutely nothing. Then, Auburn football started. The first play of the game, ULM's qb dropped back to pass only to find Antonio Coleman hitting him in the back, causing him to fumble. Michael Goggins then picked up the ball (pictured below) going in for the score. The rest of the game, the defense dominated. The passing game struggled, and the running game was, well, Auburn's running game. They rushed for 321 yards. In the game the quaterbacks couldn't hardly get the ball to the receivers, and when they did, they would drop the ball. The passing game was very, very dissappointing. Kodi Burns got a huge cut on his leg, and Phillip-Pierre Louis was knocked out for the season on the opening kick off. Tubs has been bragging on Louis ever since the spring, and I was excited to see him play. Burns is going to be fine. Besides this, Auburn won the game 34-0, and did what they were supposed to do.

Alabama vs Clemson

How good is Clemson? That is the question I have been asking ever since the game has been over. Alabama came out Saturday ready to go right at them, and they did. Dominating the offensive and defensive fronts. If we knew how good Clemson really was, we could judge Alabama. Alabama showed loads of improvement. They looked like a completely new team from last year. Clemson, on the other hand, looked like a completely new team also. They looked horrible and couldn't get anything going. It was a great game for Bama who won the game 34-10.

This week will show us even more, and I can't wait for another great week of College Football! That's all I've got for today.......................WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!
